The purpose of the Russian Drama Studio Theatre is to produce Russian theatre and cinema in English translation for the English speaking community in the St. Petersburg region. This would allow tourists, businessmen, students, diplomats and others to see live stage performances and independent cinema they might not otherwise seek out because of their lack of familiarity with the Russian language. The project would give opportunity for visitors to St. Petersburg to experience aspects of Russian culture in addition to the ballet, opera and musical concerts for which the city is world famous.
